When a major drilling company opted to become a deep water-only expert WJM evaluated the dozens of small, shallow water assets being divested. The team identified the keepers and developed a system of preventive maintenance protocols standardized for all rig components. A database of maintenance contractors was built, matching each firm with the specific procedures it was qualified to perform. With streamlined operations, the consolidated spin-off has emerged as a leader in its own right.

Record Breaking Time to First Oil in Offshore Brazil
Devon Energy's POLVO project takes its name from the Portuguese word for OCTOPUS. Long reach, highly deviated well bores extend like tentacles from a central fixed drilling platform to numerous reservoirs at varying depths throughout the field. To meet the aggressive schedule, WJM ensured timely decision making and flawless integration of work packages. The venture also marks the first instance of an independent working directly with the Brazilian government to complete a project without the involvement of Petrobras, the state-owned oil company.
